40: Grimes – Kill V. Maim

Grimes‘ aura is bizarre at the most conventional of times, and glance at the cover or tracklist of 2015 LP Art Angels – tracks with titles such as ‘laughing and not being normal’ and ‘SCREAM’ appear in just the first five minutes – could be enough to irreperably alienate. That would be a shame, however, as the album is packed with gold. ‘Kill V. Maim,’ which she told Q is “written from the perspective of Al Pacino in The Godfather Pt. 2, except he’s a vampire who can switch gender and travel throught space,” is a pleasantly typical example of the madness.
