125: Russ Chimes – Tireless

Russ Chimes is one of the most criminally underrated producers out there. A free download of his take on ‘Mowgli’s Road’ by Marina & The Diamonds back in 2009 caught me a while back, transforming Marina’s exuberant theatrics into a swooping gem, and his EPs Sula and Terrazza – released four months apart in 2014 and followed by near silence ever since – may only be three tracks apiece but exquisitely display his melodic brand of deep house with light percussion and intricate progressions. New release ‘Tireless’ would be right at home on another such compilation (which I would adore to pick up very soon, please), leaning to the calmer styles of ‘We Need Nothing To Collide’ with a mysterious aura moulded by flowing voices.
